Catherine the Great was born in Szczecin May 2, 1729 and she died on November 6, 1796. Catherine died from illness when she was 67 years old.

Her real name was Sophie Friederike Auguste von Anhalt-Zerbst.

Catherine II  was called Catherine the great.she started out as a German Princess, but then became empress in 1762.
